To support the philanthropic spirit of the Pollak-Ben David family Foundation, we created the Friends of the Chilean Jewish Museum and Holocaust Memorial (FCJMHM) in the US in 2017, as a 501 c (3) corporation.

The objective of the 501 c (3) is to provide support for the operations and projects of the Museum, so that it can continue and expand its work in reaching the public and students to educate about the value of diversity and multiculturalism.

Based on the funds we have been able to raise, the FCJMHM supports the following areas of work of the Museum:

Educational programs in both Jewish history and the Holocaust/Shoah in order to build networks and partnerships with other similar institutions.

Development of new educational platforms and resources, such as books, technological resources, and media materials. For example, the book: “The Jews of Chile”, is ready to be printed. It highlights the role of the Jews in the shaping of the national identity and the development of the country in general.

Portable exhibitions that can be installed easily. Examples are “It Was No Game” (Soccer in the Holocaust/Shoah), “How Was It Humanly Possible?” and “The People Of Israel And The Holy Land”.

The permanent Holocaust/Shoah exhibition has been redesigned and expanded given the growing need for teaching about the dangers of hate speech and antisemitism. This was possible thanks to private donations.

Buses and transportation to the museum for under-resourced schools, must be provided. Due to lack of funds, many schools and institutions are unable to be part of this important educational experience.

Translation, subtitling and dubbing of relevant materials and presentations from English to Spanish and vice versa.

The FCJMHM was registered in the State of Delaware in April 2018 with the pro-bono support of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, LLP, in Washington, DC.

The President of the Board of the FCJMHM is Irene Klinger, a Chilean economist who resides in the US, with extensive international development experience, having worked in multiple settings in Chile, Europe and the US.
